SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan's Nippon Seiro is ramping up the production rate at its 90,000 tonne/year petroleum wax unit at Tokuyama in Yamaguchi province after restarting the plant in early June, a company official said on Monday.

The plant’s operating rate and its exact restart date were not disclosed.

The official said the company will run the plant at full tilt soon.

The plant was taken off line in early May for an annual planned turnaround, he said.

Nippon’s wax capacity refers to its total production of paraffin, microcrystalline and other types of specialty waxes.

Other regional producers of paraffin wax include PetroChina and Taiwan Wax.
