SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Composites production in Asia will grow strongly and the region's share of global output will rise to 43% by 2015 from 38% last year, industry organisation JEC Composites said on Tuesday.
The projection is based on the organisation's annual survey of the composites market, said JEC.
"The composite market is flourishing worldwide and a lot of this growth will continue to be fuelled by industrial developments in Asia," said JEC president and CEO Frederique Mutel.
"Market demand for the use of advanced composites is increasing in the electrical and electronics, automotive, and aeronautics industry segments over the next five years," he said.
JEC Composites will hold its fourth Asian annual exhibition in Singapore from 18–20 October. In 2010, the event attracted more than 7,000 trade visitors from 51 countries.
