SHANGHAI (ICIS)--China’s exports in May rose at a slower pace of 19.4% year on year to $157.2bn (€108.5bn), while its imports grew by 28.4% to $144.1bn, China Customs said on Friday.
The country’s total trade in May amounted to $301.3bn, up by 23.5% from May 2010, official data from China Customs showed.

Trade surplus during the same period fell by 35.1% year on year to $22.97bn, the data said.
However, imports of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) resins and polyester chips during the same period fell by 7.2% and 30.8% year on year to 805,733 tonnes and 70,864 tonnes respectively, China Customs said.
