SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Nan Ya Plastics may restart its 40,000 tonne/year No 1 butanediol (BDO) facility in Mailiao in the middle of July, a company source said on Friday.

Nan Ya Plastics shut its No 1 BDO plant on 5 May for a month-long maintenance, but the shutdown was extended because of a fire that hit Mailiao petrochemical complex on 12 May, the source said.

The company shut its 60,000 tonne/year No 2 BDO line at Hai Fong in Mailiao on 13 June in compliance with an order from the local Yunlin county government, the source added.
