Flooding along the Missouri river is having far-reaching consequences for energy, grain handling and other businesses in the states of Iowa and Nebraska, sources said on Friday.
US polypropylene (PP) June contract prices fell by 14%, pressured by a 15 cent/lb ($331/tonne, €235/tonne) drop in feedstock costs, market sources said on Friday.
The US Senate on Thursday voted to end a $6bn (€4.26bn) annual subsidy for corn ethanol.

US CF Industries' nitrogen fertilizer complex on the banks of the Missouri river remained shut down on Thursday as an earthen berm holds back floodwaters.
Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) domestic prices in the Americas declined in June from May in line with the softening global trend, particularly in Asia, industry participants said on Tuesday.
US Senate defeats effort to kill corn ethanol subsidy
The US Senate on Tuesday rejected an amendment that would have ended the $6bn (€4bn) annual taxpayer subsidy for corn ethanol, a move hailed by biofuel industry officials who also urged broader federal support for ethanol distribution.
US ethylene spot margins remained on an uptrend last week, lifted by higher spot prices and mostly steady feedstock costs, the ICIS margin report showed on Monday.
