SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s CPC Corp has brought forward a turnaround at its largest cracker at Kaohsiung in Taiwan to the middle of August, a company official said on Thursday.

The company had originally scheduled the turnaround in late September.

CPC’s 500,000 tonne/year No 5 naphtha cracker is expected to be taken off line for 40-45 days, the official said.

The company is bringing forward the turnaround because of a change in the plant’s production schedule, the official added.

CPC runs two other naphtha crackers at Linyuan in Taiwan, namely a 230,000 tonne/year No 3 cracker and a 385,000 tonne/year No 4 cracker.
