SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Corporation (FCFC) has pushed back the restart date of its 270,000 tonne/year No 1 paraxylene (PX) unit in Mailiao to 10 July, a company official said on Friday.
This is the second postponement due to ongoing governmental inspections, according to the company official.
The plant was expected to be back on stream by the end-June but governmental inspections on the unit are still ongoing, the official said.
FCFC currently has ample PX inventory to feed its purified terephthalic acid (PTA) units at the site, the official said.
