PORTO ALEGRE, Brazil (ICIS)--Brazil-based BioVerde plans to export biodiesel to Europe by 2012, the company's president said on Thursday.
BioVerde is building a plant in Sorocaba, which will have a capacity of 400,000m3/year of biodiesel and which is scheduled to start in December.
With a facility in Taubate, which produces 181,000m3/year of biodiesel, BioVerde will be the largest biodiesel producer in Brazil, with a total capacity of 581,000m3/year.
Looking to the international biodiesel market, BioVerde expects to reach 40% of the European market, said president Ailton Braga Domingues, president of BioVerde.
The company is in talks with Spain and Italy and could begin exports by 2012, he said.
