SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Oriental Petrochemical shut its 500,0000 tonne/year T10 purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant at Kuan Yin in Taiyuan on 1 July for planned maintenance, a company source said on Friday.
The shutdown will last for one month, the source said.
“We guarantee our term supplies, but will cut all our spot sales,” the source said.
The company’s 400,000 tonne/year T9 PTA plant at the same site is running at full capacity.
Oriental Petrochemical is a subsidiary of Far Eastern Group, which has polyester, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and textile businesses.
