SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Thai MMA will postpone the planned turnaround of its No 1 90,000 tonne/year methyl methacrylate (MMA) line at Map Ta Phut to September, a company source said on Friday.
The maintenance has been rescheduled to the end of September for a period of 11 days as the lifespan of the line’s catalyst is able to be extended until then, the source said.
The turnaround had been initially planned for 10 days in late August.
The maintenance at the company’s No 2 MMA line, which also has a 90,000 tonne/year capacity, will proceed as planned in December. The No 2 line will be taken off line for 10 days but the dates have not been fixed, said the source.
Both lines will be operated at 95% capacity until September, Thai MMA announced earlier.
