HOUSTON (ICIS)--US refiners Holly and Frontier Oil have completed their merger to form HollyFrontier, it was confirmed on Friday.
With a total capacity of more than 440,000 bbl/day from five refineries, HollyFrontier is to serve the niche US mid-continent, Rocky Mountain and southwestern refining markets, the two companies said.
The new company also has access to growing regional domestic and Canadian crude oil supplies.
HollyFrontier’s refineries are in El Dorado, Kansas; Cheyenne, Wyoming; Artesia, New Mexico; Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Woods Cross, Utah. The company is also set to be a base oil supplier.
HollyFrontier’s shares will start trading under the ticker symbol HFC on the New York Stock Exchange on Friday.
The merger was first announced in February.
