Spot ethylene, propylene prices soften on demand, availability
Spot ethylene and propylene prices have fallen significantly over the past two months on poor demand from key derivatives polyethylene and polypropylene (PP) that has been weighing on supply, and there is further downside potential, market sources said on Friday.

Europe styrene to fall in July on feedstocks with Q3 tough to call
European styrene barge contracts are expected to move down in July due to falling feedstock costs, sources said on Thursday.

Spain’s LSB to sell Portugal PET plant to Control PET for €5.6m
Spain’s La Seda de Barcelona (LSB) has agreed to sell its Portugal-based polyethylene terephthalate (PET) production plant to Control PET SGPS for €5.6m, it said on Wednesday.

Initial Europe July propylene falls €75/tonne to €1,130/tonne
An initial European propylene contract price for July has settled at €1,130/tonne, down €75/tonne from June, a major producer said on Tuesday.

AkzoNobel Q2 results hit by raw material prices, production issues
Dutch specialty chemicals maker AkzoNobel said on Monday its year-to-date revenues have met the firm’s expectations, but its second quarter results will be badly hit by ongoing trading conditions and one-off factors.
