HOUSTON (ICIS)--Foster Wheeler has won a contract to work on Venezuela’s planned Batalla Santa Ines refinery in Barinas state, the international petrochemicals engineering firm said on Tuesday.
Under a deal with Venezuelan state oil firm PDVSA, Foster will provide process design and front-end engineering design services for the refinery’s hydroskimming section.
Financial terms or capacities were not disclosed.
Foster expects to complete its work in the third quarter of 2011, it said.
PDVSA is aiming to complete the first phase of the refinery by next year, with an initial capacity of 60,000 bbl/day, according to information on its website.
