Poland's Zachem shuts Bydgoszcz ECH plant for turnaround

LONDON (ICIS)--Poland's Zachem has closed down its 30,000 tonne/year epichlorohydrin (ECH) plant in Bydgoszcz until the middle of July for planned maintenance, a company source said on Tuesday.

The shutdown has been scheduled to happen at the same time as local power plant shuts for annual maintenance.

"We shut the plant for maintenance every year at the same time with the power plant to avoid disruption, there is nothing unusual about it," said the source.

Zachem makes epoxy resins and is the country’s only producer of ECH and toluene di-isocyanate (TDI).
