SHANGHAI (ICIS)--China’s Shaoxing Sanyuan Petrochemical plans to shut its 300,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) plant at Shaoxing in Zhejiang province on 10 July for a technical inspection, a company source said on Thursday.
The company started commercial production at the plant on 14 June and the inspection is necessary to prevent any production glitches, the source said. The plant is running at 100% capacity at the moment, he added.
Shaoxing Sanyuan’s plant is producing yarn grade PP now but the plant can switch to manufacturing biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) grades, he said.
