HOUSTON (ICIS)--Eastman Chemical has shut down one of its crackers in northeast Texas to address a vibration issue on the unit, the company said on Thursday.

The cracker was one of two 141,000 tonne/year units the company has at its site in Longview.

Eastman has not yet determined when the unit will be restarted, a spokesperson said.

The company has a third cracker in Longview that produces 358,000 tonnes/year of ethylene.
