HOUSTON (ICIS)--Third-quarter North American butanediol (BDO) contracts settled on Tuesday at increases of 12 cents/lb ($265/tonne, €188/tonne) as a result of tight global supply and strong derivative demand.

The 12 cent/lb increases take contract prices up to 150–154 cents/lb DEL (delivered), and were in line with initial settlements a week earlier as well as producer expectations.

($1 = €0.71)
