The producer may bring forward the turnaround at its 250,000 tonne/year HDPE line at the same site to July, from October, because of an onsite shortage of ethylene feedstock.
The company shut its 300,000 tonne/year low density polyethylene (LDPE) plant in Map Ta Phut at the end of June because of mechanical problems, the source said.
PTTCH is planning to restart the LDPE plant after the company resumes production at its 1m tonne/year ethane cracker following a month-long turnaround, the source added.
