SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Yisheng Dahua Petrochemical is running its debottlenecked purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant at above 90% after its nameplate capacity was raised to 2.2m tonnes/year from 1.5m tonnes/year, a company source said on Tuesday.

“The plant is being run at more than 90%, and the rate is still being ramped up to full capacity. Currently, it is operating quite well,” the source said, adding that the daily production output is around 6,000 tonnes.

The debottlenecking exercise was completed in early June and the 700,000 tonne/year additional capacity was raised the previous weekend, the source said.

The plant is located at Dalian, in northeast Liaoning province.

Yisheng Dahua Petrochemical is a joint venture between major PTA producer Yisheng Petrochemical and the Dahua Group.
