SINGAPORE (ICIS)--PTT Asahi Chemical has delayed the start-up of its new 200,000 tonne/year acrylonitrile (ACN) plant in Map Ta Phut, ?xml:namespace>
The source declined to give reasons for the delay.
“ACN prices have been falling and any additional supply coming into the market now will put further pressure on the prices,” a trader said.
ACN spot prices were assessed at $2,350-2,400/tonne (€1,645-1,680/tonne) CFR (cost and freight) northeast (NE) Asia on 15 July, down by $100/tonne from mid-June, ICIS data showed.
The new ACN plant is a joint venture project between
($1 = €0.70)
