HOUSTON (ICIS)--Flint Hills Resources (FHR) said in a filing with state regulators on Monday that it will start up a light olefins unit (LOU) at its Port Arthur, Texas, facility, which shut down over the weekend because of steam loss from a third-party supplier.

The company said the start-up of the LOU will be conducted in a controlled manner, and process material associated with the start-up notification will be routed to the LOU flare for destruction.

The Port Arthur, Texas, facility has an ethylene capacity of 621,100 tonne/year, and a propylene capacity of 365,000 tonne/year.
