SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Linde’s profit after tax for the second quarter of 2011 rose by 14.2% year on year to €282m ($402.9m) with the company’s overall earnings boosted by the continued recovery in the global economy, the German industrial gases company said on Friday.
Linde’s group sales in the second quarter of this year grew by 7.5% year on year to €3.45bn, the company said on its website.
For the first six months of 2011, the company’s net profit rose by 27.2% year on year to €566m, while sales grew by 11% to €6.77bn, Linde said.
Linde’s operating profit rose by 11.7% year on year to €1.56bn in the first half of 2011, the statement added.
“The Linde group has taken advantage of the improvement in general economic conditions when compared with the first half of 2010 and has continued to achieve profitable growth,” the company said.
“The group continues to assume that it will be able to achieve a higher level of group sales and group operating profit in the 2011 financial year than in 2010,” the company added.
