The facilties were shut on 20 July for maintenance, the source said.
The nameplate capacity of the naphtha cracker is 670,000 tonnes/year, while the PE and PP facilities have capacities of 700,000 tonne/year and 340,000 tonne/year, respectively, he said.
“We are currently missing the hot market now, but we are quite positive that when the plants restart in August, business remains good,” he added.
Local producers, including HPL, plan to raise their list prices in end-July to reflect persistently tight supply.
