SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Yeochun NCC (YNCC) has settled its butadiene (BD) contract price for August at $4,181/tonne (€2,927/tonne), up by $308/tonne from its contract price in July, a company source said on Tuesday.
The contract price for BD in July was at $3,873/tonne on a pipeline DEL (delivered) basis.
BD supply in Asia has been tighter than expected because of the robust demand in US.
South Korean olefins producers have been tapping the arbitrage window to the US, with some 5,000-10,000 tonnes of BD leaving Asia each month for the country.
