HOUSTON (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>China-based Zhejiang Julong Petrochemical plans to build a propane dehydrogenation unit with a production capacity of 450,000 tonnes/year of propylene in Pinghu City, Zhejiang province, US-based engineering and technology firm Honeywell said on Tuesday.
Honeywell said Zhejiang Julong had selected its UOP propane dehydrogenation technology for the plant, which is expected to start up in 2013.
The project marks the first time Honeywell’s UOP petrochemicals business licenses a propane dehydrogenation unit in China, it added without disclosing financial details.
Zhejiang Julong is a fully owned subsidiary of Zhengjiang Changjiang Energy Development.
In June, Honeywell said it would provide its propane dehydrogenation to a refinery in the United Arab Emirates.
