China’s Zhonghai Jing Xi Hua Gong runs ECH plant at 50%

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Zhonghai Jing Xi Hua Gong is running its 40,000 tonne/year epichlorohydrin (ECH) plant at Binghai city in Shandong province at 50% capacity after restarting operations on 1 August, a company source said on Wednesday.

The plant had been hit by lightning, resulting in a power outage that halted operations.

The producer is not offering any ECH cargoes to the market this week, the source added.

The plant's total capacity will be raised to 72,000 tonnes/year when a 32,000 tonne/year line, which is being built, is started up by the end of this year.
