“We are currently running the unit at 80-85% of nameplate capacity and this will continue into October,” said the source, who did not disclose further details about the technical issue.
“Contract allocations for August and September deliveries to customers will be reduced. There will be no deliveries for October because of the shutdown,” he added.
Market sources said that PIC slashed contract allocations to its various customers in
PIC produces a total of 820,000 tonnes of paraxylene (PX) and 400,000 tonnes/year of benzene from its Shuaiba-based aromatics unit.
