SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Qinghai Zhonghao Natural Gas Chemical shut its 600,000 tonne/year methanol facility at Qinghai in northwest China early this week for a month-long turnaround, a company source said on Thursday.
The plant was shut on 1 August as planned.
The volume of inventory with the company is around 70,000 tonnes, which is sufficient for sales during the shutdown period, the source said.
The company’s listed sales price is yuan (CNY) 2,200-2,300/tonne ($342-357/tonne) ex-tank, the source added.
Other methanol producers in China include China National Offshore Oil Corp (CNOOC) and Boyuan United Chemical.
