SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Sumitomo Chemical Singapore shut its 50,000 tonne/year No 1 polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) line early this week for scheduled maintenance, a company source said on Thursday.

The line, which is located on Jurong Island, will be down for close to a month, said the source.

The company is expected to restart the plant at the end of August, said the source.

Sumitomo Chemical Singapore's No 2 PMMA line with the same capacity at the site is running at 100%, the source said.
