LONDON (ICIS)--INEOS Technologies has won the contract to provide technology licences for two new petrochemicals plants in China, the company said on Thursday.

INEOS Technologies, a subsidiary of Switzerland-headquartered petrochemicals major INEOS, will provide the technology to produce vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) and suspension polyvinylchloride (S-PVC) at Qingdao Haijing Chemical Group’s new petrochemicals complex at the Dongjiakou port industrial zone in the city of Qingdao in eastern China.

The VCM plant will use ethylene dichloride pyrolysis to produce 400,000 tonnes/year of monomers, while the second plant will use the VCM to produce 300,000 tonnes/year of S-PVC.

The facilities are scheduled for completion in 2013.
