HOUSTON (ICIS)--Air Products has signed a long-term agreement to supply US refiner Motiva with hydrogen, the US-based industrial gases major said on Tuesday.

The hydrogen supply is being used by Motiva's Convent refinery in Louisiana, the company said. The refinery has a capacity of 235,000 bbl/day of crude oil.

The additional hydrogen supplies come directly from Air Products' Gulf coast pipeline supply network, which serves a number of refiners and petrochemicals producers in the region.

As part of the agreement with Motiva, Air Products can direct some of the hydrogen supplied to the Convent refinery to other Motiva refineries along Air Products' pipeline network in both Texas and Louisiana, the company added.

Volumes and financial details were not disclosed.

Air Products has been supplying hydrogen to Motiva at Convent, in part, from an on-site steam methane reformer since 2006.
