HOUSTON (ICIS)--US-based producer Eastman Chemical was restarting its HCC-4 Longview cracker in Texas, following repairs on one of the unit's cracking furnaces, the company said on Thursday.

Maintenance at the 358,000 tonne/year unit began on 3 August.

The cracker was only partially off line, Eastman said in a public filing.

A company spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Eastman has two other smaller crackers in Longview, each with 141,000 tonnes/year production capacity.

The company shut down one of those units for three weeks in July to repair a vibration issue.
