LONDON (ICIS)--The UK’s National Chemical Emergency Centre (NCEC) has chosen a software platform from US-headquartered The Wercs to author material safety data sheets (MSDS) that comply with ?xml:namespace>
As critical deadlines approach for Reach and GHS, the NCEC will use The WERCS’ (Worldwide Environmental & Regulatory Compliance Solution) suite of software tools to streamline the process and advance global legislative compliance, the company said.
Lou DeSorbo, The Wercs’ president and CEO said: “Navigating the global regulatory landscape is a major challenge even without GHS and Reach. This partnership will enable both organisations to drive efficiencies and advance safety for multinational organisations all around the globe.”
According to Steffan Kilmer, international business development manager of The Wercs, the company has seen a sharp increase in demand for its software over the past three years.
“Reach was a very strong driver [of demand] because it is such a unique regulation. Now, GHS has been the big driver in the last 18 to 24 months and this will continue,” he said.
