PORTO ALEGRE, Brazil (ICIS)--A subsidiary of Brazil-based Petrobras and a joint venture partner are considering plans to expand their Boa Vista sugarcane mill in Quirinopolis, Goias, an executive said on Thursday.
The mill is owned by Nova Fronteira, a joint venture made up of Sao Martinho and Petrobras Biocombustiveis, the biofuels subsidiary of Petrobras.
The joint venture could expand the mill's capacity from 2.5m tonnes/year to 7m tonnes/year by 2014.
Petrobras is talking with its partner, and it could reach a decision by September, said Miguel Rossetto, president of Petrobras Biocombustiveis.
Rosseto did not give details about the project.
