SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Thai MMA will shut its 90,000 tonne/year No 1 methyl methacrylate (MMA) line at Map Ta Phut on 22 August, a company source said on Friday.
The MMA producer is expected to restart the line on 27 August, the source said.
The turnaround had been initially planned for 10 days in late August.
It was then rescheduled to take place at the end of September for 11 days as the lifespan of the line’s catalyst can be extended until then, the source said.
Meanwhile, the maintenance at the company’s No 2 MMA line, which also has a 90,000 tonne/year capacity, will be brought forward to 5 September.
The No 2 line was originally planned to be taken off line for 10 days in December, the source said.
Both lines are operating at 95% capacity, Thai MMA had said earlier.
Thai MMA is a joint venture between Japan’s Mitsubishi Rayon and Thailand’s Siam Cement Group.
