HOUSTON (ICIS)--US exports of n-butanol in June decreased by 12% from May, according to data made available on Friday by the US International Trade Commission (ITC).
Exports of n-butanol totalled 15,297 tonnes in June, a decrease from the 17,382 tonnes exported in May and a decrease from the 18,385 tonnes exported in June 2010, the ITC said.
Belgium, at 7,483 tonnes, was the major destination for US butanol. Other exports went to Mexico at 2,605 tonnes, Korea at 1,291 tonnes, China at 1,270 tonnes and Brazil at 1,091 tonnes.
Other destinations included Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Canada and Ecuador.
The US imported 1,737 tonnes of butanol in June, mostly form Germany and South Africa.
US producers of n-butanol include BASF, Dow and Oxea.
