HOUSTON (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>US exports of mixtures of 2,4- and 2,6-toluene di-isocyanates (TDI) in June were 11,541 tonnes, a 6% drop from 12,257 tonnes in the previous month and a 42% drop from 19,772 tonnes in June 2010, according to US International Trade Commission (ITC) data made available on Friday.
For this year through June, exports dropped by 26% to 76,798 tonnes, compared with 103,675 tonnes in the first six months of last year, according to the ITC.
The decrease from 2010 to 2011 was due to smaller volumes shipped during the first six months to Belgium, Canada, and other destinations.
Top destinations for US TDI from January to May were Belgium (21,884 tonnes), Mexico (11,346 tonnes), Canada (6,993 tonnes) and Colombia (4,681 tonnes).
US TDI suppliers include Bayer MaterialScience, BASF and Dow Chemical.
