HOUSTON (ICIS)--US butyl acetate (butac) exports remained flat in the first half of 2011, with 26,123 tonnes shipped, about the same amount exported in the same period of 2010, according to US International Trade Commission (ITC) data released on Friday.
In the first six months this year, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, Peru and the United Arab Emirates received 69% of all butac exports, taking a collective 18,095 tonnes.
Mexico remained by far the largest destination, receiving 8,098 tonnes through June, or almost 31% of all exports.
Major US butac producers include Dow Chemical, Eastman Chemical and Oxea Group.
