HOUSTON (ICIS)--US-based Momentive Specialty Chemicals’s Oilfield Technology Group (OTG) has added a new production line to its resin-coated proppant plant in Brady, Texas, the company said on Monday.
The expansion is the third one this year to OTG’s manufacturing grid, the company said.
The new production line will produce Momentive’s Prime Plus, SiberProp and SB Excel resin-coated proppants to serve the Eagle Ford shale and Permian Basin oil field, the company said.
The plant started producing the new line last week, the company said. Momentive would not provide details on capacity.
“Industry demand continues to grow as more operators come to realise the correlation between curable resin-coated proppants and enhanced post-frac well production,” said OTG vice president Jerry Borges.
“This expansion of our Brady resin coating plant allows us to provide our customers with the additional resin coated proppant supply they are requesting for their hydraulic fracturing treatments,” he added.
