SINGAPORE (ICIS)--BASF PETRONAS Chemicals will shut down its oxo-alcohols facility at Gebeng industrial zone in Kuantan, Malaysia, in October for about 25 days for repairs, a company source said on Friday.
The operating rates at the complex are quite low because of some technical problems that need to be fixed, the source added.
The company plans to take the facility off line on 7 October.
The joint venture facility can produce 110,000 tonnes/year of n-butanol (NBA), 110,000 tonnes/year of 2-ethylhexanol (2-EH) and 25,000 tonnes/year of iso-butanol.
