SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Thailand's PTT Chemical (PTTCH) is targeting to restart its 1m tonne/year ethane cracker at Map Ta Phut on 24 August following a turnaround that began last month, a company source said on Tuesday.
The cracker was shut on 15 July for maintenance and was slated to resume operations this week.
Depending on the operating rate of the cracker, PTTCH may have a spot ethylene cargo for sale, the source said.
Selling ideas were heard at $1,150-1,160/tonne (€805-812/tonne) FOB (free on board) SE (southeast) Asia on 23 August, similar to a confirmed deal done at this level last week, according to data from ICIS pricing.
