HOUSTON (ICIS)--Dow Chemical has agreed to work with Lehigh Technologies on a programme to make tyres more sustainable, the US-based chemicals major said on Tuesday.
The cooperation will combine Dow Chemical’s expertise in polymer chemistry with Lehigh’s knowledge of sustainable rubber compound development and testing, Dow said.
Lehigh Technologies, headquartered in Georgia, US, is a manufacturer of sustainable, micronised rubber powders for the tyre industry.
“This collaboration is a great opportunity to continue leveraging our latex polymer technology for a sustainable cause,” said Colin Gouveia, general manager of Dow’s construction chemicals business.
