Russia January–July polymers output up 9.6% to 3.1m tonnes

MOSCOW (ICIS)--Russia's total production of polymers from January–July rose by 9.6% year on year to 3.1m tonnes, Russian statistics agency Rosstat said on Tuesday.

Russia's polyethylene (PE) output reached 978,000 tonnes, a year-on-year rise of 7%, while polypropylene (PP) production increased by 14% to 428,000 tonnes, Rosstat added.

Russia's polystyrene (PS) output for the period reached 186,000 tonnes, a rise of 16%, while polyvinyl chloride (PVC) production was down by 6.5% to 347,000 tonnes, the agency said.

Russia's nylon (or polyamide) production was up by 41%, to 90,000 tonnes.
