US Q2 BD production drops 2.7% year on year

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US second-quarter butadiene (BD) production was 878.4m lb (398,000 tonnes), a 2.7% drop from 903.1m lb one year earlier, the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association (NPRA) said on Tuesday.

BD production in the second quarter fell by 1.3% compared with 890.1m lb in the first quarter of 2011, the group said.

US BD inventories in the second quarter stood at 129.5m lb, dropping by 13.4% from 149.5m lb in the first quarter, while falling by 14.5% from 151.4m lb in the same month one year earlier.
