“We have started to put feedstock into the plant today [Monday],” he said.
The refinery is expected to have product available for the market in about a week, while exports may resume in the second half of September, the source added.
The Taiwanese refiner restarted an 180,000 bbl/day No 2 crude distillation unit (CDU) last week at its 540,000 bbl/day refinery and the No 3 crude distillation unit of 180,000 bbl/day capacity is likely to be restarted in early September, they added.
The refinery was shut at the end of July following a fire at a pipeline in the Mailiao complex.
