US ammonia imports decrease 7% month on month in July

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US imports of ammonia in July were down by 7% from June, according to data made available on Thursday by the US International Trade Commission (ITC).

Imports of ammonia totalled 557,768 tonnes, down from the 598,680 tonnes imported in June, and a decrease from the 667,221 tonnes imported in July 2010, according to the the ITC data.

Trinidad and Tobago, at 402,121 tonnes, was the major source for ammonia. Other suppliers of imports included Canada at 81,935 tonnes, Ukraine at 39,906 tonnes and Estonia at 22,875 tonnes.

Other sources of ammonia included Venezuela and Korea.

US importers of ammonia include PotashCorp, Mosaic, CF Industries, Yara, Agrium and Koch.
