US urea imports increase by 57% month on month in July

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US urea imports in July increased by 57% from June, according to data made available on Thursday by the US International Trade Commission (ITC).

Imports of urea totalled 333,442 tonnes in July, up from the 212,339 tonnes imported in June, but down from the 339,634 tonnes imported in July 2010, the ITC said.

Canada, at 99,979 tonnes, was the largest source of urea. Other leading suppliers of urea included Oman at 49,220 tonnes, Bahrain at 43,965 tonnes and Egypt at 34,590 tonnes.

Other sources of urea imports included Romania, Venezuela, Croatia, China, Trinidad and Germany.
