HOUSTON (ICIS)--US exports of n-butanol in July increased by 40% from June, according to data from the US International Trade Commission (ITC) said on Thursday.
Exports of n-butanol totalled 21,376 tonnes in July, an increase from the 15,297 tonnes exported in June and the 16,412 tonnes exported in July 2010.
Belgium, at 8,084 tonnes, was the major destination for US butanol. Other exports went to Mexico at 3,008 tonnes, Singapore at 3,000 tonnes, China at 2,597 tonnes and Brazil at 1,882 tonnes.
Other destinations included Germany, Australia, Canada, United Arab Emirates and Peru.
US producers of n-butanol include BASF, Dow and Oxea.
