July denatured and undenatured ethanol exports totalled 127.4m gals, based on US government figures, above the previous record of 120.1m gal in April and nearly double the amount exported in July.
The top destinations in July were Canada, Brazil and the EU.
Denatured ethanol exports totalled 104.6m gal, topping 100m gal for the first time, RFA said.
Meanwhile, undenatured ethanol exports totalled 22.7m gal, more than triple the amount exported in June.
The RFA said corn ethanol is the lowest-cost motor fuel source in the world, which is the key driver behind US exports.
High sugar prices and low sugarcane ethanol output in South America have also helped the US overtake Brazil as the world's leading ethanol exporter, according to the RFA.
