China clears acquisition of US' Lubrizol by Berkshire Hathaway

HOUSTON (ICIS)--China’s Ministry of Commerce has cleared Berkshire Hathaway's planned acquisition of US-based global specialty chemicals producer Lubrizol, Lubrizol said on Wednesday.

Lubrizol, headquartered in Wickliffe, Ohio, has manufacturing facilities in 17 countries, including China.

The $9.7bn (€7.1bn) acquisition deal, which was first announced in March, is expected to close on Friday, 16 September, Lubrizol said.
